2025 THEME/FOCUS

“ACT: A Community Transformed” is more than just a logo for Adventist Youth Ministry. It’s our response to our God’s Great Commission which says, He is

“…not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9, NKJV).

“I Will Go” then is our commitment as Joshua-like leaders to lead and send our youth into the enemy’s frontlines. What you have just read by way of this plan is a simple, comprehensive, visual, and practical strategy for making that happen regardless of your context.

On behalf of the General Conference Youth Ministries Department, we charge you to send redeemed, revived, and rightly trained youth ages 4 to 30 into the churches, cities, campuses and unreached countries of the world with the Three Angels Messages.

With the support of GC Administration, the 13 Division youth directors, MENA Union and the Israel field, “Global Youth Day” (GYD) was launched on March 13, 2013. The vision of GYD is to recapture the reality of Adventist youth as a global movement mobilized for service, contributing to the proclamation of the everlasting gospel and ushering in the second coming of Jesus Christ. There is a lot more to religious faith than simply going to church and listening to sermons. The true practice of religion involves the revelation of God’s love in living out Jesus’s gospel commission as He bade us to before He ascended to heaven: through all manners of selfless acts that point a desperately needy world to the ultimate hope of the better world He has made possible for us. Grounded in the concluding words of Jesus in the parable of the Good Samaritan, “Go and do likewise” (Luke 10:25-37), the theme of the Global Youth Day is “Be the sermon.”

After seeing all the news reports, testimony videos, and worldwide activity from more than 150 million digital social media impressions on GYD 2017, we know God has been ministering to those in need through our tireless young people committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus—literally. Seeing how His power moved through the streets of our communities last year means we can only imagine what He’ll do this year! Make big plans and share them with the world.

Global Youth Day is set to launch the official week of the Youth Week of Prayer meetings. Ahead of time, please contact your pastor or conference youth leader to see what projects your church will be involved in on this day. If you are planning a full day event, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) has an amazing activity that can be done during your afternoon AY program. In Their Shoes is an interactive poverty experience that takes teens on a 24-hour journey into the lives of teens from other countries around the world. Through the eyes of this new identity, they will begin to understand the challenges that millions of people in developing countries face every day. You’ll discover what ADRA is doing to help and what the Bible has to say about living a life of Christian service.

Immediately after the annual Week of Prayer comes another week in which Ambassadors and Young Adults will stand on the pulpits or sit in groups to teach the Word of God and passionately call other young people to Jesus. This is an expression of Total Youth Involvement. While the world church is focusing its effort on the Total Member Involvement initiative, the Youth Ministries (department) has decided to make the mantra intentional and relevant for what we do by dubbing it Total Youth Involvement! #TYI24
