2 Chronicles 35
Chapter Summary
Josiah
Josiah had another Passover, as his grandfather had done. Apparently, Hezekiah had not continued with the seven days of Unleavened Bread, according to verse 18. Unfortunately, when Neco of Egypt went to war against a nearby nation, Josiah did not believe him when he said he was doing God’s will. He disguised himself and battled Egypt anyway, and was killed in battle. His people mourned him bitterly—they weren’t used to having a king who loved them and whom they could love, and they were very sorry to lose him.

Dear God, I pray for the leaders of my country, whether they are good or evil. If they are good, strengthen and help them; if not, please send them word in whatever ways they will understand. And if they won’t, then keep us all safe.
