Daily, practical gifts from God

Alt Text

Psalm 127

Chapter Summary

Daily, practical gifts from God

Solomon wrote this one; it must have been after he learned some of his hard life lessons. List some of the daily, ordinary gifts God gives in this psalm. Are there any you are lacking? Do you ever wear yourself out trying to get these gifts yourself rather than trusting God to bless your work and bring true prosperity?

Day 253

Dear God, let me not either work myself to death rather than trusting You, or become presumptuous, expecting You to just hand me what I want

Psalm 127

KJV

127 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
